Her Story

It all started May 31, 2011 - my first day interning at the Department of Defense. My boss brought me up to the office and was introducing me to all of my new colleagues. I remember walking down an aisle, turning the corner, and there he was - tall and handsome! I was caught off guard and will always remember that moment. Throughout the summer he spent a lot of time helping me learn everything about the job. He was even kind enough to redo my resume, cover letter, and help me negotiate for a full-time position after my internship ended (I guess he wanted me to stick around?). Needless to say I had a huge crush on him from day one, and I always had a feeling about him. I'm glad we had three months to get to know each other (and survive the great DC earthquake) before going on our first date on September 17th, 2011. I remember being so nervous and the date starting out a little quietly, but we managed to overcome or nervousness and the rest is history! I feel extremely lucky to have met Evan and am so excited he wants to share his life with me. I can't wait!

Our Story
His Story

I remember rounding the cubicle one day to talk to a coworker, and all of the sudden all thoughts of work went out of my head as I thought, "Woah. Cute blonde." My lack of "game" was circumvented by the fact that we were working on the same team, and we gradually started hanging out more--first in the office, then socially as well. I quickly recognized that she wasn't just cute, she was also funny, sweet, and intelligent too. After multiple batches of cookies, fudge, and cupcakes showed up on my desk, I realized two things: first, this girl might actualy be into me, and second, she is definitely a keeper. Following that minor epiphany, I worked up the courage to ask Kristyn out on a date. Despite the fact that we had been chatting on a daily basis for months, my stomach was full of butterflies on that first "official" date. Despite my nervousness, I must not have screwed up too badly, because she quickly agreed to a second, third, and fourth date. That bring us to today, and I could not be more excited to start this new chapter with my partner and best friend!
